Our School Age Program is very multi-faceted with three major catagories within this program.

​

1 - Our main focus is Before & After School Care.  Before heading off to school our early morning bus riders will have a chance to eat breakfast, catch up on some rest, play with their friends, or watch a movie.  

Upon their return in the afternoon, they are met by their teacher who guides them through snack time, homework help, and free play until their parents arrive to pick them up.

 

2 - On the days the public schools have an early dismissal or are closed for the day, we will have a host of fun learning, craft, and engaging activities to keep the children involved and entertained throughout the day.  Some favorites in this group are game time - including Connect Four & trading cards , as well as science experiments and cooking activities!

 

3 - HUELC hosts two Mini-Camps during the school year, as well as our Summer Camp program from June to September.

                Mini-Camp is held during Spring Break and Winter Break.  These days are filled with more of the things they love!  More science experiments, like blowing up baking soda rockets! More messy art projects!  More cooking and TASTING activities too!

                 Summer Camp begins the Monday after the last day of public school and runs through the Friday before Labor Day each year.  During the summer the class is VERY BUSY!!  In addition to the highly anticipated activities we have already mentioned, We add a learning componet to the schedule so they will not lose what they have worked so hard to learn during the school year.  The BIG HIT of the summer is always the many fieldtrips and outings the children will enjoy!   In the past these have included Bethpage Golf & Ice Creamery, Jennaration Bakery, Marshall's Lunch Counter, Mi Jalisco, Urbanna Market, Urbanna Park, Upton Town Marina, and Waterman's Park.
